The Silent Epidemic
In 2021 alone, 67,259 students died by suicide in India. One in seven youth aged 15–24 feels depressed. Gita Olympiad meets young people where they are — with the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, aligned with NEP 2020's call for holistic, value-based education.

Reality Check
The pain is real, even when the smile is perfect.
The numbers
Punjab, Manipur, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Haryana are the most affected states. Among youth, cannabis (14.6%) is the most used substance, followed by opioids and painkillers (3.2%), other pharmaceutical drugs (2.6%), alcohol (2.5%), and inhalants (1.9%).
From first registration to prize distribution — the programme moves through six deliberate stages of Gita study, meditation, assessment, and real-world application.
