In 2021 alone, 67,259 students died by suicide in India. One in seven youth aged 15–24 feels depressed. Gita Olympiad meets young people where they are — with the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, aligned with NEP 2020's call for holistic, value-based education.

Punjab, Manipur, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Haryana are the most affected states. Among youth, cannabis (14.6%) is the most used substance, followed by opioids and painkillers (3.2%), other pharmaceutical drugs (2.6%), alcohol (2.5%), and inhalants (1.9%).

From first registration to prize distribution — the programme moves through six deliberate stages of Gita study, meditation, assessment, and real-world application.

Participants enroll for the Olympiad via the online registration portal or through manual registration at partner institutions.

An online assessment gauges participants' knowledge and understanding of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.

Residential Workshop

Stage 3 of 6

Residential Workshop

Selected participants attend 12 Gita sessions with daily meditation therapy and individual counselling, conducted by ISKCON.

Online Assessment

A comprehensive online exam evaluates depth of understanding gained through the workshop and study programme.

Interested candidates join a one-month advanced programme with workshops, field projects, and stipends for real-world application of Gita teachings.
